LEESBURG - 13 Jackets were named to the Daily Commercial All-Area team after the 1986 season.
The Yellow Jackets were 4-6 that year, with three of the six losses being to state ranked teams. Two of
the losses to state ranked teams were on the road.

"They were a good football team, despite the fact the record doesn't show it," Foster said in a interview
with the Daily Commercial in December 1986.

OL Jay Connell, 6-4, 220, Jr., SP Lee Hanks, 5-10, 175, Fr., and LB Fred Allen, 5-9, 195, Sr. were the
only Jackets to be named to the first team.

Five of the players would sign National Letter Of Intents to play college football at he end of their
careers at Leesburg. Joe Cornelius and Jay Connell became All-State selections for the Jackets
during their careers. Below is a list of the players that made the All-OBC Team and signed letters of
intent.

First Team Offense

OL Jay Connell, 6-4, 220, Jr.
SP Lee Hanks, 5-10, 175, Fr.

First Team Defense

LB Fred Allen, 5-9, 195, Sr.

Second Team Offense

QB Steve Madden, 6-1, 190, Sr.
WR John McGlohorn, 6-1, 175, Jr.
OL Glenn Burley, 6-3, 220, Jr.

Second Team Defense

LB Mike Wood, 6-1, 210, Jr.
