LEESBURG - Giving very little support to the Yellow Jacket ball carrier, the Leesburg team let the Eustis
Panthers mop them up 28 to 0 here last Friday night with line showing up more pathetic than at any
game in the past. Absolutely no support was given to the ball carrier except in scattered instances
when Capt. Red Davis, Tommy Hill, Frank Pemble or Ray McClain were in there. As for the rest, they
might as well have been on the bench.

Lindeman started good but was soon so exhausted (judging from the way he stood up in the line) that
he simply could not go in and get his man and the others missed their blocks repeatedly. The line
failed to get down and in general it was the worst spectacle fans have witnessed to date. However, the
backs fought gamely, though for losing cause, and too much credit cannot be given to them when they
would try to gain yardage, knowing it was up to them to do it all.

It may have been the crisis and the disorganized team will begin to mold and be a credit to those who
have worn the Yellow Jacket jersey in previous years. Last week, it was the most disorganized team
that has ever faced a rival on the Leesburg gridiron the same team that must face Gainesville of the big
ten here tonight unless they have gained team pride during the week.

The debacle started off with A. J. Vickers kicking, Pemble holding and the ball was taken by Warren
Land on his own 25 and run back 17 yards. The ball changed side three times and then the Panthers
lost the ball on downs. Ray McClain went into the line for a gain of four yards and then terrible centering
put the ball into the end zone, to be covered by a Leesburg player for a safety before the Panthers fell on
it for a touchdown. Eustis then led 2 to 0.

Leesburg lost the ball on downs on its own 20 yard line, still in the first quarter, and Bronson picked up
a yard before he was stopped by Frank Stevens and Tommy Hill. Bassett then passed to Bronson in
the end zone and Walker converted with a place kick. Bronson holding, and Eustis stepped further in
the lead with the score 9 to 0.
