The Leesburg Commercial-Ledger

A Collins pass to Mahan was good for 46 yards and put the ball on the 12-yard line. Three plays later
Grigsby burst over for the score. Richardson's kick was blocked and the score was 9-6.

AS the half came to a close the Bulldogs punted to Tommy Milam who fumbled after being hit by Ray
Tyson on the 22. The Bulldogs took over on that spot and a pass intended for Cliff Whaley at the five
was deflected high into the air and the scramble for the falling ball ended in Whaley's favor and a score
for the Bulldogs. Laughtery bucked for the point, and the score stood 16-6, as the half came to a close.

The Jackets came back into contention for the last time as they took the ball on the kickoff and promptly
marched to the three where Grigsby carried for the six points. Richardson's point try was wide and the
Jackets trailed 16-12. In the drive for the touchdown Richard Collins and Don Cunningham carried the
brunt of the attack. Four minutes later the Jackets were on the verge of falling six points farther behind
as the Bulldogs were 4th and 6 on the 11. Despite a goal line defense the Bulldogs romped over for the
score and point and stretched their lead to 23-12.

Two minutes later the Bulldogs played a blocked kick on the 45 into a 45 yard dash for a score. A
fumble by the Jackets set up the Bulldogs' last score as they moved 35 yards in eight plays for a Partin
touchdown.
