Jacket Backs Primed For Season Opener

AT THE SIGNAL calling spot in the Jacket offense will be the veteran Archie Lowry with three years of
experience behind him. He has all the attributes needed in a quarterback. He is smart enough to run
the team himself most of the time and has proven his ability as a team leader. When you combine this
with his reputation as a passer you have one of the best in the business. Lowry can toss the long
bomb or thread the needle for the short yardage. He is a scrambling type of passer with better than
average running ability so it should be an exciting year at Leesburg High this season.

Right now the Jackets number two quarterback Mike Napier is hobbling around with a cast on his right
leg. The promising sophomore broke an ankle in pre-season practice and is expected to sit out at
least half of their games. This is unfortunate for one and all as he has been described as one of the
finest sophomore quarterbacks seen for some time. He is a good runner and can hold his own as a
passer as well.

Without a doubt local fans will be seeing a lot of this young man on the sports scene hereabouts for
the next three years at least.
