It's Leesburg's Offense Vs. Eustis' Defense Tonight
September 27, 1985|By Tim Wilson, Sentinel Correspondent
Orlando Sentinel

''Our kids were emotionally down because of it, but we're back up for this game. There is a good rivalry
between us and Eustis,'' Foster said.''Steve Brown is a very good young coach, and I'm sure he will
have his team ready, because we certainly will be.''

Eustis' Antoine Cockerhan, a 6-foot-3, 248-pound junior nose guard, will return to the starting lineup
after being sidelined by a knee injury.

The Yellow Jackets will be without the services of seniors Danny Dyess, a 6-4, 250-pound lineman,
and linebacker Charles Alexander for the next three weeks. Both are hobbled with injuries.

As for making up for the players lost to ineligibility, Foster will have some players going both ways.

Leesburg is led by senior fullback Jon Cannon (6-3, 210) who has rushed for 259 yards.

Junior quarterback Steve Madden handles the passing, completing 7-of-18 passes for 83 yards and
one touchdown.

''They do have a few things for us to be aware of,'' Brown said. ''You just can't concentrate on that big
guy Cannon all night because they have two other quick guys, and I know they have the potential to
throw the ball, too. We'll be ready, it will be an intense football game.''
