LEESBURG -- Scoring three touchdowns in a span of six minutes in the fourth quarter, Belleview
overpowered host Leesburg, 35-14, Friday in a Class 4A, District 4 game.

The Yellow Jackets played the powerful Diamondback Rattlers tough for more than three quarters, but
did not have the manpower to hang for the final 12 minutes.

"We just ran out of gas," Leesburg coach Bud O'Hara said. "That is one fine football team we played
tonight."

Jake Warren scored on a 1-yard keeper with 9:45 left in the game to give Belleview (2-1, 2-0) its first
lead since early in the first quarter. Warren completed an 18-yard pass to Mike Pitonzo to set up the
touchdown. Also figuring in the drive, as he did most of the night for Belleview, was 225-pound senior
fullback Tim Gehrsitz.

"He has to be the best running back in the area," O'Hara said. "Trying to bring him down is like trying to
tackle a Coke machine."

O'Hara was proud of his team for the effort it gave in a game much closer than that final score.

"We gave it all we had," O'Hara said. "They just wore us down in the fourth quarter."

After the short run by Warren the Rattlers added a touchdown on a 2-yard run by Gehrsitz with 5:09 to
play. Gehrsitz accounted for 35 yards in the 40-yard drive.

Belleview sealed the deal when Patrick Carty picked up a pass and raced 16 yards for a touchdown.

Earlier, with 3:12 left in the opening quarter, Leesburg (3-1, 1-1) wiped out a 7-0 deficit, scoring twice in
a span of 3 minutes, 12 seconds. Brandon Hooks vaulted 15 yards for a touchdown, set up by a
Leesburg recovery of a Belleview fumble.

On the final play of the opening quarter, Jermaine Orr made a sensational one-handed grab of a pass
from Derek Burbank and went on to complete a 70-yard scoring play, putting Leesburg ahead, 14-7.

Belleview tied the game with 3:54 left in the half on a 27-yard run by Chris Ginyard. The touchdown was
set up by a short Leesburg punt. Three penalties set the Yellow Jackets back to their 8-yard line. The
punt by Doug Orr slid off the side of his foot and went out of bounds. On the next play, Ginyard stung the
Yellow Jackets with his touchdown run.
