LEESBURG - Two first-year coaches planted their first seeds earlier this summer, and Friday night they
were both eager to see how their new systems had taken root.

The Eustis Panthers appear to be in full bloom.

Joe Burnett score three touchdowns and quarterback Derrick Johnson rushed for two and passed for
another as the Panthers routed host Leesburg, 49-14, in the season opener at H. O. Dabney Stadium.

New
Eustis coach Steve Moser's Wing-T offense wasn't discriminating in spreading the ball around as
four Panthers scored. In addition to Burnett and Johnson,
Keith Hayes and Joshua Paul notched
touchdowns for the Panthers.

"That's why we are using the
Wing-T offense," Moser said. "It allows us to spread the wealth around to
the players that we have."

The Panthers started slowly, falling behind when
Jackets quarterback Brett Pitchford scrambled around
end from 3 yards to give his team a 7-0 lead 6:07 into the game. But Eustis answered right back just
three minutes later when Johnson weaved his way into the endzone from 20 yards to knot it at 7.
