LEESBURG - Brooksville Central controlled the clock, field position and, more
importantly, the line of scrimmage in handling Leesburg.

"It's plain and simple: We got beat at the point of attack all night long," Leesburg coach
Charles Nassar said. The Bears (3-6, 1-3 in Class 4A, District 6) put together an
impressive drive on the first possession of the game. Central marched 67 yards on nine
plays. Quarterback Shane Collard finished it with a 9-yard score to tight end Anthony
Wright.

Central added a field goal in the closing seconds of the half, a 25-yarder from Mike
Hibbert, make it 10-0 at halftime.

Central took advantage of the Yellow Jackets lone turnover to add another touchdown
early in the third quarter.

The Bears intercepted Leesburg quarterback Mark Smith, giving them ball at the Jackets
20.

From there Central needed just three plays for Anthony Gaynor to punch it in from the 1.
Leesburg (3-6, 0-4) avoided being shut out when Smith threw a perfect faderoute to
Tory Harrison for a 10-yard score. The play was set up when Harrison recovered a
Bears fumble at the Central 10.
