LEESBURG - Brooksville Central controlled the clock, field position and more importantly the line of
scrimmage en route to a 17-7 victory over Leesburg Friday night.

"It's plain and simple, we got beat at the point of attack all night long," Leesburg coach Charles Nassar
said. "All night long. They beat us out at the line of scrimmage."

The Bears (3-6, 1-3 in Class 4A-District 6) put together an impressive drive on the first possession of
the game. Central took the opening kickoff and marched 67 yards on nine plays. Quarterback Shane
Collard finished the drive off with a 9 yard toss to tight end Anthony Wright.

Central added a field goal in the closing seconds of the half, a 25-yarder off the foot of Mike Hibbert, to
take a 10-0 lead into halftime.

Central took advantage of the Yellow Jackets lone turnover of the game to take a 17-0 lead early in the
third quarter.. The Bears intercepted Leesburg quarterback Mark Smith, giving them excellent field
position at the Jackets' 15.

From there Central needed just three plays for Anthony Gaynor to punch it in from the 1 to make it 17-0.

Leesburg (3-6, 0-4) avoided being shut out when Smith threw a perfect fade route to Tory Harrison for a
10-yard score. The play was set up when Harrison recovered a Bears fumble at the Central 10.
