Leesburg Yellow Jackets vs. Wildwood Wildcats, High School Football Game

Leesburg dominates Wildwood

WILDWOOD - Leesburg ended a difficult season Friday night with a 21-0 win at Wildwood.

The Yellow Jackets (4-6) looked as good as they have all season on both sides of the ball. Wildwood
should have known that it was in trouble when Leesburg split end Tory Harrison romped for 68 yards
and a touchdown on the Jackets' second play from scrimmage. The touchdown, as it turned out, would
be all that Leesburg would need against a flat Wildwood squad that is now headed to the playoffs.

Of Wildwood's eight offensive possessions of the game, Leesburg's defense forced three punts, had
an interception and a fumble. The Wildcats also turned the ball over on downs twice and saw another
possession end as time expired at the half.

Harrison, in the meantime, was putting together a career night, scoring on a 6-yard run just before the
half ended, and again on an 11-yard run just 53 seconds into the fourth quarter. Harrison finished the
evening with 121 yards on seven carries and notched the lone reception of the ballgame for either
team, hauling in a Mark Smith pass for 10 yards.

Leesburg coach Charles Nassar was pleased with his team's performance, and praised them after the
game for the manner in which they handled themselves in the face of adversity all season long, having
to cope with the death of teammate Willie Tucker. Tucker was killed in an automobile accident early in
the season, and linebacker Howard Russell was lost for the year due to injuries suffered in the same
accident.

"When you play with the burdens that we've carried all year, emotions are always going to play a huge
part in the football game," Nassar said. "We were able to put some things aside tonight and play
football. I couldn't be more proud of a bunch of young men."
