3 straight fumbles let Jackets pull away
LAKE SPORTS - GAME DAY - LEESBURG 33, TAVARES 0
Each turnover leads to a touchdown, and the defense finishes with half a dozen takeaways.

LEESBURG -- Charles Graham rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns, leading Leesburg to a
33-0 victory over Tavares on Friday night.

The Yellow Jackets' opportune defense played a big role in the victory. Leesburg forced six turnovers
and held the Bulldawgs to 152 total yards.

It's early. We made some mistakes, but we flew around and played tough defense," Leesburg coach
Charles Nassar said.

The defense was evident in the third quarter when Leesburg forced fumbles on three straight Tavares
possessions and converted all three into touchdowns to extend a 12-0 lead to 33-0.

Graham, Danny Trevathan and Taquelle Stinson scored the touchdowns, but the biggest play of the
game for Leesburg was a pass.

Leading 6-0 in the first quarter after a 44-yard touchdown run by Graham, Leesburg forced and
recovered a Tavares fumble on the Leesburg 15-yard line. Three plays later, quarterback Rod
Cosgrove lofted a long pass along the left side that fell into the arms of Demetrius Singleton.

Singleton caught the ball in stride and went 85 yards to score the TD that boosted the lead to 12-0.

"We are an option team, but occasionally we will try for a home run. We hit one tonight," Nassar said.

That completion was one of only three by Cosgrove, but it was the big one that the Yellow Jackets
needed.
