LEESBURG - Taking another decisive step forward for her final goal-the state championship among
high school football teams Leesburg's Yellowjackets outplayed, outguessed, outgenerated, and
outdistanced the
Tarpon Springs Sponge Divers at Cooke Park yesterday afternoon before a crowd
that was estimated at 400 but sounded like 4,000 as their team sprang ahead to win.

"We have a team," was the unanimous decision of football addicts after the game, "and a team that
can travel in any sort of fast company and run. Bring on the remaining teams in the Yellowjackets way
to the top."

Leesburg started right out after scores when the first whistle blew. There was nothing to it -

Banning's men were too strong, knew too much, and were playing a go-head, heady game, using
much of their "stuff that befuddled the opposing players, who at times, seemed undetermined as to
what they should do against the shifty local outfit.     1   of   2
