The Game
Gainesville won the toss and choose to receive with the wind to their advantage. Leesburg stopped
their return on the 30 yard line. The boys from Gainesville failed to make yards and Jenkins took the
ball on an off tackle play of 10 yards. An attempted pass made second down, 10 to go. A series of line
bucks followed by an end run resulted in the loss of the ball and Gainesville was on the offensive.

The teams looked evenly matched although the Yellowjackets outweighed their opponents 10 pounds
to the man. On the first play the Gainesville boys made yards, only to fumble, and it was Leesburg's
ball on their 40-yard line. Cahill took the ball for 11 yards and first down.

The line at this stage of the game seemed inconsistent. Holes were made, then on the following play,
no hole could be seen. On the next play the ball was fumbled and recovered. The pass that followed
was incompleted and Ling called for a punt. Gainesville was offside and were put on the offensive on
their 20-yard line.
