Capt. Ling will probably move into quarter, leaving an end position to be filled. There are at least six
candidates for end and it should not prove difficult to find a good man for the job. The tackle position
left vacant by the graduation of Murwin should also be easily filled for there are some ten candidates
for line positions including several men who are already experienced in the game.

Skull practice started last night after supper when the first plays will be outlined on the blackboard and
the signals be given out for memorizing. Coach Banning does not contemplate running signals until
after school starts unless the men become proficient in fundamentals before the training camp comes
to a close. He, however, intends to drill signals on the blackboard each night, explaining position and
direction of effort until each man is familiar with the technique of each play.
