'Jackets Likely To play Andrew Jackson For Title

Secretary Cassel In Favor Of Such Meeting Stated

Executive Committee of F. H. S. A. A. Yet to Announce Date

Sports Staff
The Leesburg Morning Commercial
Tuesday, November 29, 1927

Secretary Cassel of the Florida High School Athletic association, with whom W. B. Treloar talked
ever long distance telephone late yesterday, stated that he personally, is in favor of a game
between the Yellowjackets and Andrew Jackson of Jacksonville. Hesitated as his belief that this
matter must come before the executive committee of the association for final decision, as to
whether the two undefeated teams would meet and where.

Proper Argument
(Prof. Treloar argued that the two undefeated teams are the ones to meet, and that the winner of
that meeting should be declared stated champion. There the matter rests, but it was stated in
sources supposed to know that Leesburg will"get a crack" at the Andrew Jackson team, perhaps
at in Gainesville a week from Friday, December 9.

As soon as this tentative arrangement, if it is indeed even tentative, is made secure, the
Yellowjackets will go into intensive training for the crucial game of the season.

Show Interest
Tampa and other newspapers  have shown an interest in Leesburg's claims to state title chance,
and, one, the Tampa Tribune, comes out with a signed statement that Leesburg and
Jacksonville, being the two undefeated teams, naturally must play for the title, but suggesting that
the Tampa Terriers should then be matched with the winner.
