Secretary Cassel In Favor Of Such Meeting Stated

Executive Committee of F. H. S. A. A. Yet to Announce Date

Sports Staff
The Leesburg Morning Commercial
Tuesday, November 29, 1927

Jacksonville Times-Union's sport writer is of the opinion that the Leesburg team should meet
Andrew Jackson for the championship. This writer also said that it seemed to him that the best
thing far  the Tampa Terriers to do now would be to keep silence and let the undefeated teams
compete for the highest honors.

Not in Tourney
Mr. Cassel further stated that the tournament at Orlando which is being pusehed by Ray Geene,
secretary of the Florida division of the A. A. U., will not be cosidered as a state championship
event although nothing will be done to prevent the playing of the games. Leesburg Yellow
Jackets will not be entered in this tournament stated Prof. Treloar.

Jacksonville Time. Union, in commenting on the football situation in the state says:

It begins to appear as if Andrew Jackson wiould have to play Leesburg before an undisputed
claim to the state championship can be set up. Hillsborough is warbling over the wires for a
game after beating St. Pete, but every team in the state that thinks it has a right to play Jackson
for the title cannot be gratified in wishes. Hills borough has been beaten by Lakeland and we
believe that the most graceful ext for the Tampa boysa would be a stony silence. Lesburg has not
been beaten this year, though Gainesville upset her early in the season, only to have the game
thrown out when a man was declared inelgible.
