Undefeated Andrew Jackson Eleven Nears State Title By Win

GAINESVILLE, Dec. 10 - (AP) - The Tigers of Andrew Jackson high (Jacksonville), undefeated
this year easily went into the finals for the state interscholastic football championship here
today by running rough-shod over Leesburg, also previous undefeated, 37 to 0.
The victory was costly to Coach Ray Dickson, former Florida star, however, for he lost the
services of "Monkey" Brennan, flashy quarter, who sustained a dislocated shoulder.
The Yellow Jackets took the kickoff and flashing brilliant form pushed over three first downs,
losing the ball on downs to Jacksonville, however, on the 38 yard line, Brennan made 20 yards
on the first play and Dorsett loped off tackle for 40 yards and a touchdown. The Tigers scored
again in the first period, Wernicoff going over for the counter. Long forward passes. Dorsett to
Hirsch, gave the Tigers two more touchdowns; a sustained drive from the 40 yard line netted
another one, Wenicoff going over, while the last one was scored on a drive from the 47 yard
line, Lockett scoring.
Dorsett missed the point try kick five times, but completed a pass to Hirsch for one extra point.
