Parlor Car 'Bus To Gainesville, Via Leesburg

Tickets On Sale At Stepp's Hotel, Other Buses If Need Seen

By Sports Staff
The Leesburg Morning Commercial
Friday, December 9, 1927

LEESBURG - Tickets for the parlor car bus to Gainesville are on sale at the Florida Motor Line
offices in Stepp's Hotel. Purchase of ticket early Friday morning is advised that passengers may
be sure of getting seats. Number of tickets sold Friday will determine whether or not a second
bus will be run.

Special parlor car bus will be operated from Mount Dora through Eustis, Tavares and Leesburg
to Gainesville Saturday for the championship football game between the Leesburg Yellowjackets
and the Andrew Jackson high school team of Jacksonville, with a round trip fare of $3, through
special arrangement made with the Florida Motor Lines by the Leesburg chamber of commerce,
according to announcement here Thursday by officials of that body, following conference with E.
T. O'Brien, of Orlando, traveling passenger agent of the former.

Half Fare
As the regular one way bus fare to Gainesville from Mount Dora is $3.50; from Eustis, $3.25;
from Tavares, $3.15; and from Leesburg, $2.75, the flat rate of $3.00 for the round trip is less
than one half fare from all points except the latter. More than one bus will be operated, Mr.
O'Brien stated, if advance reservations justify. Local ticket agents of the Florida Motor Lines will
reserve seats.

Schedule
Schedule for the special bus is as follows: Leave Mount Dora at 10:40 a.m. leave Eustis at 11:00
a.m.; leave Tavares at 11:45 a.m.; leave Leesburg at 12:15 p.m. (giving 30 minutes for
luncheon); arrive Gainesville 2:30 p.m.

Returning, the bus will depart from Gainesville at 7 p.m., allowing ample time for supper after the
game, arriving and leaving Leesburg at 9:30 and arrive at Tavares, 10:00 p.m.; Eustis, 10:15 p.m.
and Mount Dora at 10:30 p.m.

Interest in the Saturday game is based on the fact that the winning team will contend for the
Florida championship with the winner of a game on the same day between Tampa and Wachula
played on the grounds of the former.
