Yellowjackets Are To Test Strength Here This Friday

LEESBURG - Coach Banning's proteges are pounding into shape for this week's game with
Tarpon Springs here Friday, and are preparing for a tough struggle. Yellowjackets have a clean
record and with five games yet scheduled, are looking forward to claiming the state high school
championship. The game this Friday looks to be a critical one, the tea coming here to make up
for last year's stinging defeat of 19 to 0.

Leesburg Yellowjackets will enter the game a strong favorite although its lighter opponent has
won a majority of its games and is credited with a fighting team similar to Coach Sarah's at
Gainesville.

Coach Banning is experiencing some difficulty in curbing a feeling of over-confidence, but feels
that his men will realize the importance of every game and enter this week's battle prepared to
fight every inch of the way.

Dick Williams was out for practice after a two weeks layoff because of injuries in the Plant City
game. The plucky little center was unable to participate in the scrimmages but Banning said that
he will be in shape to play Friday. Coach Banning said that he would probably hold Williams in
reserve this week for an emergency starting Smith.

Preparations are being made for a record attendance. The student body of the Tarpon Springs
school is to be well represented and judging by local enthusiasm the town will turn out en
masse to witness the spectacle.
