The local American Legion post played host to the Leesburg high school football team last evening at
the Magnoia hotel. The occasion was the awarding of letters and sweaters to the 1926 squad.
Fourteen men received the coveted letters and sweaters.

Eighteen members of the Legion escorted the athletes into the dining hall where Mrs. McCormack's
usual good dinner was enjoyed. Justin E. Langille, adjutant of the post, acted as toastmaster, and at
the conclusion of the meal called on Coach Banning for a few words. Banning commended the spirit
shown by the squad during the past season and promised that with a continuance of such spirit he
would put every effort forth during the season of 1927 to produce a championship team.

Col. T. G. Futch awarded the letters and sweaters to the members of the squad with such an
expression of good humor that the gathering was kept in an uproar during the entire ceremony.
