First Eleven, Three Of Substitutes, Manager To Be Honored

Unable to practice basketball because of the floor, recently waxed and not yet dry, Coach Banning
called an impromptu meeting of the football regulars to decide upon the issuance of sweaters to the
squad this year. A vote disclosed that three others besides those of the first eleven and the student
manager are to be awarded sweaters.

Coach Banning explained that while none of the players had actually played the requisite quarters,
outside of the first eleven, the three selected were considered an invaluable help throughout the
season, and remained faithful. They include:
Harry McInnis, Arthur Polk and Hampy Paulling.

Few Substitutions

Knowing that it would be hard to convince outside teams at the end of the season that the Jackets were
worthy of championship play, Coach Banning seldom substituted and then only when an overwhelming
score had been piled up. Due to this fact very few players had a chance to make the required number of
quarters of play. In this it might be of interest to readers to know that throughout the season every man
of the first eleven saw service in every quarter played with the exception of
Roller Moore and Joe
Jenkins. Joe was held to the sidelines with a fractured collarbone for two quarters and Roller a like
period with a sprained ankle..........
