The Leesburg Yellow Jackets blasted the Eustis Panthers out of the Orange Belt Conference
championship last Wednesday night, as they bested the Panthers on their home field, 13-6.

The two Lake County teams battled to a scoreless tie at the half before a capacity Homecoming crowd.
In the third quarter the Jackets hit pay-dirt when Dave Morris climaxed a Leesburg drive, scampering
around his own left end for the TD. Morris sparked the Leesburg team throughout the game with his
long runs.

In the last quarter, Jimmy Adker put Eustis back into the game, blasting through right tackle to tie the
game up, 6-6.

In the closing minutes of the game Jimmy Marshall, who was hampered by an injured leg, put the
Jackets on the Panther 6-inch line with his spectacular running. From the Leesburg 40, Marshall put
the ball on the Eustis goal with two long runs, from where Jack Peachy blasted the Eustis line for the
tie-breaking score. Ray Richardson booted the ball out of the park on the extra point try, and the score
stood, Leesburg 13, Eustis 6.

The determined Leesburg line was outstanding throughout the game, clearing the way for Morris,
Marshall, and Peachey, and stopping the vaunted Eustis backfield of Branton, Adler, McCree, and
Ayers. In the closing minutes of the game Jimmy Marshall, who was hampered by an injured leg, put
