Combining speed with weight advantage the Cocoa Tigers defeated the Leesburg Yellow Jackets 21 to
0, in Friday night's Orange Belt Football Conference game. Bobby Anderson, halfback, was the
workhorse for the Tigers as he scored two touchdowns and set up the third with a blocked punt. Truly a
fine football player Anderson was at his best against the Jackets.

Coach Earl Burt interchanged players quite frequently in an attempt to stop the hard charging Tigers.
However the weight advantage couple with game experience was too much for the young Yellow
Jackets.

Leesburg kicked off to open the game and Cocoa started a 55 yard march that ended with Anderson
going over through the middle of the line for the first score. Anderson, with a line plunge, added the extra
point to give Cocoa a 7 to 0 lead with six minutes of the first quarter gone.

The Jackets took the ensuing kick-off and began a drive but was stopped by the interception of Andy
Miller's long pass. Cocoa then started a drive towards Leesburg's goal that continued into the second
quarter of the game. A touch won run was nullified by a holding penalty and a fumble recovered by
Leesburg stopped Cocoa's drive.

Leesburg was then forced to punt the first kick from scrimmage Eddie Parker got off a beautiful kick that
ended up with the ball on Cocoa's 21 yard line. Cocoa began a drive at this point but the Jackets held
and took over the ball on their own 31 yard line. Leesburg ran out the clock as the first half ended Cocoa
still leading by seven points.

The Yellow Jackets marched to the Tiger's 30 yard line on a drive following the second half kick off. But
the Tiger defense tightened and Leesburg punted. Leesburg held the Tigers punt for the first time from
scrimmage.
