H.W. Callaway Is New President Of Local Dad's Club

By Sports Staff
The Daily Commercial
Sunday, May 11, 1956

H.W. (Cal) Callaway was chosen president of the Dad's Club of Leesburg high school last night at the
final meeting of the school semester.

Other officers are: Junior Holloway, first vice president; Norwood Lockett, second vice president; Ben
Brown, secretary; Andrew Miller treasurer; Harvey P. Young, Ed Huff, Gordon Herlong, Beryl Roberts,
Jesse Pullum, Murray Parker, Rufus Holloway, Jack Hewitt, and Vincent Fechtel, directors.

Fechtel gave a review of activities of the club during the current school year and listed among the
accomplishments the installation of rest rooms at Memorial field and the placing of a telephone booth
near the entrance to the field.

It was pointed out that all eligible members should arrange to join at the first fall meeting. The club
has
taken action to obtain 200 additional seats at Memorial field and a committee composed of Holloway,
Young, Herlong and George Rast is now working on this project. It was reported that 506 seats
already
have been reserve for the first five home games for the approaching football season.

Among other things, the club voted to work for the construction of a press box and to enclose the
concession stand.
