Ron Hall and James Chambers, a pair of fancy dan halfbacks running from the double winged T, had
the Jackets reeling at Memorial Field Friday night, as they led the Auburndale Bloodhounds to a 26 to
14 win over the locals. Chambers broke the scoring ice with a 10 yard sprint into paydirt and set up
another TD in the third period with a 50-yard jaunt, while Hall took a 24-yard pass from quarterback
Larry Exum for his first touchdown and then closed out the visitors scoring for the night with a 28 yard
run, following the Chambers gallop.

The Bloodhounds struck early, when they recovered a Jacket fumble on the locals 42. They moved the
ball from this point goalward, with Chambers covering the last ten yards for the six points. Tackle
Wayne Gunnels kicked the first of his two extra points for the night.

As the first quarter drew to a close the visitors moved on a sustained drive from their own 38 that
culminated in a touchdown, when Halfback Hall took a 24-yard pass from quarterback Exum. Another
Bloodhound touchdown was thwarted when Jackets recovered a Hall fumble at the goalline, but the
visitors were not to be denied as they took a Leesburg punt on the locals 29 and moved goalward, to
rack up the six points on another Exum pass. This time fullback Scott Reddick was his target.

The Jackets weren't abut to give up though, as they moved on a sustained drive of their own from their
45 with 4 consecutive first downs. Quarterback Ronnie Young carried over from one yard out for the six
points and his pass to End Max Wettstein was good for the extra point.

The visitors from the Southwest Conference moved two touchdowns ahead again when they marched
from their own ten on a drive that got them the six points. Halfback Chambers ate up a big chunk of real
estate with a 50-yard gallop, to set it up on the Jackets 28. This time his running mate Hall carried and
he crossed the  double stripe standing up.

The Jacket defensive unit came in for their share of the glory once more when they stopped a Hound
drive at the goalline, only to see their teammates lose the ball on a fumble. They rose to the occasion
though to regain possession when they forced the visitors to fumble.
