The fightin' Jackets of Leesburg High closed out their practice this week with Capt. Bobby Mock turning
up with an injured knee and his running mate at guard Jim Huff cropping up with a blood infection. It is
expected that both boys will be out of this week's game against Winter Park as the Jackets close out
their Orange Belt Conference competition in an away game tonight. Their regular season will end in
another away game against Haines City next Friday night.

This has caused some lineup changes for the locals as Coach Whitey Smith and his staff dig deep
into a reserve unit already thinned by the earlier loss of fullback Bill McBride, halfback Stan Gideons,
and center Billy Roberts. Junior varsity center Jeff Butler has been moved up where he will be a stand
in for center Kenny Smithgall who is already hampered by the collar he wears to protect an early
season injury. John Watkins who came up to the varsity earlier this year is expected to see plenty of
action as a linebacker, guard and center with the second unit. Tackle J. J. Kimmons has been moved
into one of the vacant guard spots while Tom Willis has been shifted into the tackle slot vacated by
Kimmons Sort of looks like the age old game of "who's on first" but this is the way they are expected to
line up come kick off time at eight in Winter Park.

Max Wettstein and Jon Axford, injured hand and all, will be at their familiar end spots with Marcus
Lawrence and Tom Willis the tackles. J. J. Kimmons and Chip Deems will be teaming up as guards
with Kenny Smithgall handling the chores at center.

Their backfield picture is almost as clouded as the Jackets attempt to come up with a winning
combination against the Wildcats. They will have David Herlong and Steve Brown up from the junior
varsity alternating at fullback with John Gray and Capt. Art Spence the halfbacks. Soph Mike Nappi is
expected to get another crack at quarterback again this week.

In the series between the two schools the host Wildcats hold a two to one edge with victories in 1958
and 1959 while the Jackets poured it on in a lopsided 35 to 0 win last year.
