"Too old to play... too young to sit and watch and too dumb to be a coach!" - In those words the speaker
for the
Leesburg High School Booster Club described his role as an official, first for high schools,
Central Florida Colleges and then for the
Southeastern Conference.

Dick Pace, former student of Tavares High School, winner of 16 letters and then student athlete at the
University of Florida, now combines his officiating with a successful insurance business in Winter Park.

He started by explaining that he felt hat he owed athletics a debt of gratitude after he finished with his
degree and was not qualified to coach so he concentrated on being a good official.
