Bobby Nappi, quarterback for the 1966 Fightin' Jackets of Leesburg High, signed a football scholarship
with East Tennessee State last night. In town for the occasion was
Billy Williamson, backfield coach, at
the
Johnson City, Tennessee school.

It was a full four year, grant in aid Athletic Scholarship that Nappi signed. The Liberal Arts school plays
a full ten game schedule in the tough
Ohio Valley Conference. Conference rules allow first year
students to play varsity ball and the promising Nappi could quite conceivably make the varsity this year.
He will report to school August 27th to start workouts with the team.

In signing Nappi, Coach Williamson indicated that Head Football Coach Bell and the rest of the staff
are high on the youngster who ranks as one of the best running backs they saw in action during the
1966 season. Tentative plans are to give him a chance at a running back spot or to move him into their
defensive backfield, where his speed will be invaluable.
