Also present for the signing in the Leesburg High school Gym last night were his mother Mrs. Jean
Nappi, his father Dr. M. J. Nappi, the Jackets Football Coach Wilbur Lofton, and Leesburg High
Principal Buford Robinson.

Nappi guided the Jackets to a six and four season record accounting for fifteen touchdowns himself
and picking up close to 800 yards in the eight games he appeared in. He missed most of the last two
contests due to an assortment of injuries.

As the group departed an anonymous source was heard to comment, "Well, Florida got Spurrier from
Johnson City, Tenn. It is only fair that we send them a Florida boy in return."
