AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - Running back James Brooks and linemen Marshall Riley and Jim Skuthan have
been named by the Auburn coaches as players of the week on their respective teams.

Brooks, who gained 159 yards on 29 carries against
Mississippi State, was named the offensive back
of the week.

Riley was named the offensive lineman of the week, while Skuthan was named by the Auburn
coaches as offensive lineman of the week.

Brooks' yardage against State pushed his yearly total to 887 yards. A senior from Warner Robbins,
Ga., Brooks graded 91 percent which is one of the highest grades recorded this year by an Auburn
back. I route to his 159 yards, Brooks broke 12 would-be tackles by State defenders.

Riley had seven tackles and four assists against State to bring his yearly total to 23 tackles and 19
assists. Auburn defensive coaches said the junior from Swansea, S. C., played his best overall game
of the year against State and played with "reckless abandon the way a good defensive lineman has to
play."

Skuthan, a senior offensive lineman from Leesburg, Fla., had one of his best games for Auburn
against State, He had five domination blocks, according to Alex Gibbs, his position coach, who said
Skuthan did "an outstanding job blocking State's big interior linemen."
