PRACTICE #2 GALLERY

MACON, Ga. – Mercer University football returned to Five Star Stadium on Thursday for its second
practice of the 2015 preseason camp.

After dealing with high temperatures in their opening practice of fall camp, the Bears caught a break on
Thursday as an early morning rain cooled things off for the second session of the year.

Following a strong opening day of practice, Mercer carried the intensity over to the team's final helmet-
only session.

"I was extremely pleased with the effort today and the retention from yesterday after adding a lot of new
things" Lamb said. "Our guys understand the pace of practice that we need to be at and the intensity
that is required at practice."

The Bears will practice in shells (helmets and shoulder pads) for the first time Friday morning, a move
that Lamb feels that whole program is ready to make.

"Things change a little bit tomorrow once we put shoulder pads on, and our players are excited about
that after banging shoulders the last few days," Lamb said. "We put in our punt team coverage today;
and tomorrow we plan on adding a kick-off team to continue to grow our special team segments while
also making additions to our offensive and defensive playbooks early on."

Coach Lamb on who players that impressed him at today's practice:
"One of the most impressive guys out here today was our freshman wideout Marquise Irvin. The guy is
a difference maker. I know it's just the second day, but he made several big plays down the sideline.
He's a big guy out there, but I'm anxious to see how he does with pads on."

"It is hard to judge the linemen without pads on, but if you look in the secondary LeMarkus Bailey had a
nice interception return for a touchdown and he's got big play ability. Zach Jackson did a nice job
roaming around in the secondary pretty well and out on the corner we have some returning guy like Alex
Avant and new guys redshirt freshman Brandon Gurley and Stephen Houzah that have looked good in a
very competitive group."
