Updated: Sunday, April 9, 2017, 6:42 p.m.

HOUSTON – HBU head football coach Vic Shealy announced the signing of 17 student-athletes to
National Letters of Intent at a press conference in Glasscock Lobby on campus Wednesday.

"I'm excited to share with you these 17 incoming freshmen and also three junior college transfers who
have already been on campus for three weeks," Shealy said. "These are phenomenal guys and have
tremendous families behind them and we feel they are really going to make a difference in our
program and on campus."

The Huskies are heading into their fourth full season of NCAA Football Championship Subdivision
competition, with this today's signings marking their fifth full recruiting class.

Fourteen of the signees are from Texas, with two from Louisiana and one from Florida. The Huskies
signed nine on offense and eight on defense. The class includes one quarterback, one tight end, three
running backs, three receivers and and an offensive linemen, as well as two defensive linemen, three
linebackers and three defensive backs.

"These 17 guys are going to make our players here on campus say 'wow,'" Shealy said. "That's exciting
for us as coaches. These guys are fully locked and loaded blue and orange lovers and they are a great
group of "Dawgs." The great thing about social media is you can see them already starting to build
relationships and it's neat to see them already becoming teammates."

HBU also has three student-athletes who transferred and are currently enrolled in Spring semester
classes. Johnavon Graham is a defensive end from DeSoto, Texas, and Cisco Junior College and
Raphael Lewis is a cornerback from Elk Grove, California, and Sac City Community College. Center
Cody Hooks will have three years of eligibility remaining and is from Willis, Texas, and Blinn Junior
College.

The Huskies will hold spring practices Feb. 6 through March 9 at Husky Stadium. Practices will begin
at 4:30 p.m., except for Feb. 17 at 7 p.m. and March 9 is to be determined. HBU opens the 2017
season at Texas State on Sept. 2 in San Marcos.
