Leesburg Senior Seth O'hara, Who Played At Three Schools In Three Years, Led

LEESBURG — Success not always can be measured in wins and championships.

Take Leesburg linebacker Seth O'Hara, The Lake Sentinel's defensive football player of the year.

As a sophomore, he played at a Madison High School program that was a rousing success. This year,
Madison made it to the semifinals of the state playoffs.

As a junior he played at Belleview High School. This year, Belleview also made it deep into the playoffs.

The two schools may have been one outstanding linebacker away from making it all the way to the state
championship.

But O'Hara isn't lamenting spending his senior year at Leesburg, which posted a 3-7 record.

``I really enjoyed my year here at Leesburg,'' he said. ``It gave me the opportunity to play for my dad, and
I would not trade that for anything.''

When Bud O'Hara left Madison after an 11-year stint as coach to take over the same duties at Leesburg,
his talented son came with him.

The same thing happed the year before, when Bud O'Hara left as an assistant football coach at
Belleview.

For Leesburg, the father-son combination proved to be an outstanding combination.

Seth O'Hara was the leading tackler in the area this year, averaging a shade under 19 tackles per
game. He finished the season credited with 120 first hits and assisting on 84 other tackles. He made a
whopping 27 tackles in one game.     1   of   3
