Official All-Northeast Section Teams Named

PALATKA - Officials and coaches of all teams from schools represented in the northeast conference
met Tuesday night at Palatka and decide that the football championship league for 1930 must be
shared by
three teams, Leesburg, Ocala and Daytona Beach. This decision came about because Leesburg,
while
the only undefeated team in the league had played only four games with conference members through
a
misunderstanding or through failure of league officials to notify Coach Banning that at least five
inter-conference games must be played to entitle a school to consideration in such an award.

Both Ocala and Daytona Beach lost one game apiece but played five games within the conference and
officials of the league ruled that inasmuch as Leesburg had failed to play the required number of
games
that the season should be declared as having ended in a three way tie. It was voted to award three
cups,
one to each of the three teams. Sanford's affiliation in the conference was voted on favorably.
