When Coach Banning issued a call for candidates for the football team at the beginning of the season,
some thirty responded. As practices grew more strenuous and training rules became more strict the
squad dropped down to twenty men. With this small nucleus Coach Banning developed a team that
surpassed all records made in previous season.

Aided by the able assistance of Davis and
Hope one of the best and fastest outfits in the state was
moulded from green material. Such stars as
Roundtree, Adams, Jenkins and Ling were developed
this year and did much to create a winning team. Cahill, who came here from Ohio, proved to be a
consistent ground gainer every game played.

Adams and Roundtree showed whirlwind speed on end runs and were responsible for many scores.
Gray's heady playing and smooth running of the team was commendable while the only man to
graduate this year his loss will be keenly felt, his field generalship having been of the highest order.
With this season's expeience Leesburg's Yellowjackets should be one of the most aggressive teams
in the state. A good schedule is being arrange for next fal which will bring to this city a grade of games
which will be well worth seeing.
