R.C. Pratt, principal of Leesburg High School issued an announcement yesterday to the effect that the
head of coaching job of the Yellow Jackets football team is vacant and applicants will be interviewed
at the office of the school through March 21, 1973.

Tom Perrin, 1972 coach (5-4-1) leaves with the sincere appreciation of Pratt for the many good things
he was able to accomplish in his one season and top recommendations for future coaching positions.

Perrin replaced Wilbur Lofton who moved from Leesburg to Tifton, Georgia taking along his top
assistant Max Wettstein.

The principal stated that Perrin would be seeking a position which included the athletic directorship
and complete responsibility in future assignments.

The Jackets, announced yesterday their joining of the Big Sun Conference (AAA) which includes two
schools from Ocala, Forest and Vanguard, two from Gainesville, East Side and Bucholtz, Palatka
Central and North Marion after having been an independent since withdrawal from the Orange Belt
Conference several years ago.

Assistants under Perrin were Hubert Dabney and Casey Kearce whose plans for the 73 season have
not as yet been announced.
