LEESBURG - Before a large revenge seeking crowd, the strong Leesburg Yellow Jackets took
advantage of their opportunity and made vengeance sweet by defeating the Ocala Wildcats by a score
of 36 to 0.
Scoring four touchdowns and that may extra points during the first half, while the visitors were unable
to
register a single first down looked as it the Jackets were going to have things their own way without
Ocala
even threatening to score, but after an inspired talk during the rest period by their coach, Jack Smith,
the
Wildcats came out on the field determined to prove their worth to a large group of followers including
a 35
piece band which followed the Wildcats here, and took advantage of a break and reached the shadow
of
the Jackets goal line only to find the Jacket line to be unpassable. On the kick off leesburg fumbled
and
Ocala recovered on the 20 yard line, on several plays the pigskin was placed on the Jackets 13 yard
marker in possession of the Wildcats, but at this point the Jackets tightened down to business and
stopped Ocala's only threat to score. The Jackets registered a total of nine first downs to two for the
visitors.

The Jackets had a good night in the air, attempting 14 passes and completing 9, having but one pass
intercepted. The Wildcats out of 11 attempts completed but 3 and had 2 of them intercepted. Brady
furnished the thrill of the night when he plunged through the line then dodging around the secondary
defense until he was in the open and then dashing 62 yards to the golden stripe to score.

Brady, Miller and Scarborough led the way in the ball carrying department while Phillips, Oxford,
Knowles
starred in the line, Pennington proved himself to be both a ball carrier and a defensive power by
playing a
game that would put "Catfish: Smith in the shade as a football star. Woods and Burgess carried the
burden for the losers.
