A new bleacher section consisting of 332 seats have recently been installed at the High
School athletic field. This was reported to the Directors of the Leesburg Dad's Club, at a
meeting at the home of
President Junior Holloway.
The Dad's Club is an organization of fathers of junior and senior high school students at
Leesburg High
School dedicated to promoting and assisting in activities of the student body.
Ed Sauls, supervising principal, expressed great appreciation to the Dad's Club for the
results of this
project.
"With the installation of this new bleacher section, the Dad's Club have now installed a
total of 996 new
seats at the athletic field," he said. "Al;l of the seats on the home side of the field have
been replaced,
and we are now putting in new seat-boards in th concrete student section. The old
section of wooden
bleachers which this new section replaces have been moved over to the visitors side of
the field."
These new seating sections cost approximately $1600 each, the cost being met by the
sale of reserved
seats by the Dad's Club. President Holloway reported that almost all of Sections A, B &
C had been sold
for the coming football season, and that receipts to date from these sales total about
$1100 almost
enough to pay for this last section.
"Every Dad with a child enrolled in Leesburg Junior-Senior High School should be a
member of the Dad's
Club," said President Holloway. "We have a program of improvements and projects for
the coming year,
which will mean a great deal to all the student, and we want every man to have a part in
it. We are having
a meeting at the High School at 8 o'clock on Sept. 3rd for the purpose of arranging for
the membership,
program and other business, and we would like to have at least 100 Dad's present at
that meeting."
Directors voted to provide accident insurance for the High School football team again
this ear, and
awarded the contract for the coverage to Moore, Clark &Potter, Inc., Insurance Agents
of Leesburg.
