Fort Lauderdale University High School Ranked #22 In ESPN Power
Rankings

LEESBURG - When Yellow Jackets head coach Randy Trivers was hired back in 2010, he had a blueprint
for turning
Leesburg High School into a National Power. He has laid down a solid foundation for the Jacket
football program to thrive for years to come. At the midway point in his third season at Leesburg his
program will find out where it stands after Friday's game against the Nations #10 ranked team according
to
Prepnation.com.

University School of NSU 5-0 (2-0) will visit Leesburg this Friday for the first ever meeting between the two
schools. The Suns will be the highest ranked opponent to ever visit
Leesburg Memorial Field at Hubert O.
Dabney Stadium.  University School is one of the fastest-rising programs in the nation. The Suns were in
the Class 2B championship game in 2010, where they lost in triple overtime to Ocala (Fla.) Trinity Catholic.

University School’s football team started its season on national tv with a 33-14 victory over Trotwood
Madison at Kings Stadium in Kings Mills, Ohio. The game was part of
ESPN’s Geico Kickoff Classic
Weekend, and University School’s first to be broadcast nationwide.

“I believe that adversity happens for a reason,”
University coach Roger Harriott said. “What happened
today will force us to work harder.
ESPN and Paragon Marketing gave us a great opportunity to represent
our school and Broward County and we got the job done.”

The Jackets are coming off of a 50 to 26 road win over Class 7A District 4 Opponent
Lake Minneola.
University whipped
Hollywood Chaminade Madonna 47-20 last week moving them up in all of the National
Polls. They are the #1 ranked Class 3A team in the state of Florida and the #1 team in all classifications
in Florida by one poll.

University School has major prospects up and down the roster. ESPN 150 defensive lineman
Maquedius
Bain (6-3, 285) has Miami, LSU and Alabama on his radar after decommitting from Florida State over the
summer. Several players have already made verbal commitments, including linebacker
Nick Internicola
(
Rutgers) and wide receiver Jalen Battle (Kentucky). Three-star linebacker Skai Moore has cut his list
down to
Rutgers and Vanderbilt and could make a decision at any time.
