FSU Goes For No. 2 Against Iowa State

The Florida State Seminoles have been subjected to a lot of verbal abuse the past few years, but after
their win over Utah State last week, that may have come to an end.
Now I doubt that they're ready to jump into the Top Twenty yet, but there's no doubt that Darrell Mudra is
building the Seminoles back to respectability, or maybe even more.
In topping the Aggies last week, FSU tightened up a defense that was maligned after the opening loss
to Texas Tech. Leesburg's Greg Johnson and his mates pretty well stopped the entire Utah State attack
with the exception of running back Louie Giammona, the nation's leading rusher last year, in the
second half.
The Seminoles built their lead behind the running of sophomore back Leon Bright, who picked up 138
yards, to add to his 102 against Texas Tech.
Bright, one of nation's top running backs, teams with Larry Key, the Seminoles leading rusher last year,
and Rudy Thomas to give FSU three of the quickest backs around. They rarely run in the backfield at the
same time, but the depth gives Mudra some maneuverability.
Sophomore Clyde Walker didn't do too much throwing last week, but he was effective when he put the
