Former Florida State star Greg Johnson was obtained on waivers by the Bucs Tuesday to replace
injured defensive tackle Charles Hannah. The 6-foot-4, 240 pound Johnson was a fifth-round draft
choice of the Philadelphia Eagles in 1976 but was waived. He was with the Baltimore Colts earlier this
season and most recently spent time with the Chicago Bears. He is expected to join the team
sometime today. Hannah underwent surgery on his right knee Monday to repair ligament and cartilage
damage suffered in Sunday's 10-0 loss to the New York Giants.

The number of players who individually have scored more points than the Bucs this season has grown
to 12 up five from a week ago. This week some running backs moved into the race. Errol Mann of
Oakland with 78 points took over the lead from Efren Herrera of Dallas, who has 76. New faces in the
crowd include Walter Payton of the Bears with 60 points. Lawrence McCutcheon of Los Angels and
Wayne Morris of St. Louis with 48 points each, Toni Fritsch of Houston with 53 and Toni Linhart of
Baltimore with 51. The Bucs have scored 46 points this season. With Sunday's performance against
the Giants, the Bucs' defense moved up two spots to No. 9 in the National Conference. The Bucs are
ninth against both the pass and the rush. The Detroit Lions, this week's opponent, defensively is No. 4
overall, fifth against the rush and fourth against the pass. Offensively, the Lions are No. 9 overall, sixth
against the rush and 10th against the pass. Offensively, the Bucs remain No. 14 overall but moved
ahead of San Francisco and the New York Giants to No. 12 in pass and remain No. 13, ahead of Green
Bay in rushing.
