Lee Bennett Makes Professional Debut with BC Lions

VANCOUVER, B.C. – Former Mercer linebacker Lee Bennett made his professional debut with the
Canadian Football League member BC Lions in their playoff-clinching 42-32 win over Edmonton last
Friday.

Bennett, who signed to the Lions' practice squad in early September, was activated to the team's
official roster last week prior to Friday's game. Bennett recorded one tackle on special teams and is
listed as a second-string linebacker on the Lions' depth chart.

The Leesburg, Fla., native is the first Mercer football alumnus to sign a professional deal and to appear
in a professional game. Bennett was a three-year starter with 33 starts in 44 games played during his
standout career at Mercer. He was named a team captain and earned All-Southern Conference First
Team honors after setting a program single-season record with 110 tackles as a senior.

Bennett and the Lions will play at Saskatchewan on Saturday with further CFL Playoff implications on
the line.
