Jimmy Oxford Writes From University

By Sports Staff
Daily Commercial
October 11, 1935

Jimmy Oxford in an interesting letter to Mr. Lonnie Lee tells about his interesting experiences as a
freshman candidate for football at the university. He was one of 130 to answer the first call which however
was decreased to about a 100 after a few days. There were 17 candidates for center, one of whom was
Jimmy. He states that Davis of Plant City was giving him the stiffest competition for a permanent berth as a
freshman center.
