D. A. McClellan, president of the Leesburg Jaycees, announced yesterday that the Leesburg high
school "Bleacher Fund" had been completed thanks to a welcome boost from the Lions Club, which
raised the needed additional money in last Thursday's college football game here.

A check for $1625.10, the net amount raised during the campaign, has been turned over to Ray M.
Hayes, supervising principal of the high school night's Jaycee meeting. That amount includes $363.50
which the Lions realized from the game.

In behalf of the Leesburg High School, Mr. Hayes yesterday thanked both civic groups as well as every
person who contributed to the project.

Lumber Not Available
He  said the new bleachers had been on order for several months with delivery promised by Sept. 20.
However, the company has been unable to fill the order because they claim OPA allows the mills more
money for lumber shipped to foreign countries than they can get in the United States.

The bleachers will be of the type which can be moved readily from one field to another, and will cost in
the neighborhood of $1,300. Mr. Hayes said, "We hope and trust they will be here for the beginning of
next season's play."

The Jaycees took in $629 as a result of their refrigerator sale, $410 in donations, $575 in program
advertisements, and #363.50 from the Lions football game. Expense were $261. 90.
